Logistics Modeling Analytics Manager

Leading the team developing optimization models to drive strategic and tactical decisions supporting Operations, Supply Chain Planning and Logistics teams across Caterpillar business units around the globe

Ability to provide technical expertise in the development of advanced mathematical models for optimization problems to address business needs

Provide personal development and career planning to the team members

Responsibilities include project planning, model development & deployment support

Manage project and coordinate tasks with other project team members in Operations, Supply Chain & transportation teams

Communicate model results to a variety of stakeholders including supply chain analysts, operations leaders, and commercial teams
Masters/PhD degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields
Theoretical and practical knowledge of developing advanced optimization models
Demonstrated experience in developing complex models with commercial optimization software (CAST, LLamasoft SCG, JDA Strategist, LogicNet+, CPLEX, AIMMS, etc.)
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, Python & R
Excellent leadership skills to effectively sponsor supply chain improvements making the best use of available resources, while maintaining strong people focus and fulfilling the responsibilities for leading people
Extremely strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to creatively solve very complex problems
Fluent English written and oral skills
Strong Business Acumen
Ability to Travel 10-25% of time – globally
